I purchased the A7V about three weeks ago, upgrading trom A7iv, the difference is quite amazing, I recently have become interested in butterfly photography and have been trying uncessfully to photograph butterflies in flight, but since having the A7V I have now have quite a success rate using the pre capture and 30fps, image quality is significantly better, so yes glad I upgraded.

The new a7V is not able to keep the date and time. The Tracking Area spots place the tracking area box in random spots, ignoring both joystick direction and subject detection. Yes, I am using it in AF-C mode. It seems to work slightly better with subject detect turned off, but from my understanding, it is supposed to work with subject detect. Having said this, when the camera does catch the subject its directed on, the photo quality is amazing. I may be completely revising this review if I can get in touch with Sony to find a solution for these problems. But also, when spending that much money on a camera, shouldn't it work flawlessly out of the box?

Amazing all rounder

Had this camera around a month now for professional work and it really is everything I was looking for. I shoot fashion, documentary and a little sport so needed an all rounder that was going to last me. I love the colours I get out of the raw files, they are much more natural than previous models…this wasn’t something I was expecting. Autofocus is great with people and animals, plus the tracking is great. The camera does loose a star for me when wanting to switch quickly from people to still objects etc, the autofocus just doesn’t get what you want to focus on even with the focus in the centre.

on the photo side, the camera performs amazingly well, excellent dynamic range and autofocus, unfortunately I think this camera has heavy limitations in video since it can't shoot true 24fps and 4k dci, that are essential to any serious video production for DCP requirements

Si vienen de tener una a7III y pasan a este modelo el brinco es enorme ya que cuenta con funciones nuevas, códecs y un sistema de enfoque más avanzado.

My husband purchased this at the beginning of the month. He had previously used a Leica q3 , but couldn’t get on with it. The Sony is everything and more….. his enthusiasm has returned . Trip to Warwick in the camper van and out came his camera.

Empecé con una 6400 pase a la 6700 y se me daba bien pero con el tema del ISO esa un poco más complicando esta cámara maneja un ISO altísimo y se me da mejor y más fácil para tomar fotos sin tanta luz artificial y flash

La cámara en si presenta muchas mejoras. En mi caso, solo por el nuevo mecanismo de pantalla me merece la pena. AHORA, hay cosas a tener en cuenta. Objetivos de terceras marcas, como me ocurre con el TAMRON 70-180mm f/2.8 dan fallos, hasta el punto de ser inutilizables. Algo verdaderamente incomprensible ya que muchos compramos cámaras SONY precisamente para poder utilizar con ellas este tipo de objetivos. Una cosa es que capen las ráfagas y otra es que los objetivos directamente fallen. Por otro lado, las fotos de largas exposiciones tardan el tiempo equivalente en procesar. Es decir, una foto con una exposición de 30 segundos, tarda otros 30 segundos en procesar. Esto hace que tomar una única foto pase a tardar 1 minuto. Algo extraño que con la A7IV no ocurría. Con excepción de estas dos cosas, que no son menores, el resto funciona correctamente.
Una buena inversión!

Early days but a technical and quality leap forward from my previous equipment. I produced corporate films for Blue chip clients for over 30 years starting with Hi_Band Umatic, and through the Betacam era and retired with the early SD card recording video gear. Back then Betacam cameras were around £60K and the quality they produced is poor compared to my new Sony A7. I am retired now, 75 years old but I am still asked to make the odd corporate film so wanted something smaller and lighter than the estate car full of equipment I used to carry and I am blown away by just how much better the A7 V is. It shoots in light levels I would have needed full lighting rigs for in my previous life and the 4K and 33k pixel resolution is amazing for editing. I now have a lot of gear that is obsolete since purchasing the A7V.

No fa un mes que la vaig comprar, tenia una A7 I, la primera que va sortir al mercat i encantat, amb aquesta hi ha moltíssima millora, de moment no puc fer una valoració detallada, el que sí que trobo que no està gens ben encertat és l'intervalómetre, únicament permet fins a 60" entre foto i foto, continuaré fent proves.

Excellent camera, have done 2 studio shoots so far and have yet to find anything that needs improvement. I have the A7IV and thats also a great camera but the A7V is certainly better. Auto focus is amazingly quick, images with the 24-70 GM lens are tack sharp I had a mess around with the 30 FPS electronic shutter with pre-capture, the results were excellent and with practise and the right settings I have no doubt could be improved a lot further.
